Asked by Dec 04, 2014 at 08:13 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT

Question type: Car Customization

I am planing on getting a set of flowmasters for my 2004 grand am would it be alright if
the inlet and outlets for the muffler were just a little bigger than the actual exhaust system

Any muffler shop has a expander & swedging tool to bell tip them slightly so one pipe or both ends fits into it. I put a single 3" Raven exaust on a Chevy pickup. They custom bent the pipe to fit into the special 3" inlet & outlet cat converter & muffler. A 3" pipe will actully flow more exhaust than duel exhaust.

Oh & the 3" pipe resonated, rumbled, & sounded so mean.
