My car is screeching really loud. The steering wheel gets really hard to turn at times and then the battery light comes on. Any ideas?

Does It Have any Pwr steering fluid in it, or it may be running a tad bit low

If your battery light is also coming on, I suspect an issue with your serpentine belt as that runs your alternator and power steering pump. Check all your pulleys, tensioner and the condition of the belt, something has failed or about to fail and that is what is causing the screeching noise.
