Why is my speedomter off 7 mph

Question type: General

My daughter bought a used 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe last Tuesday.  The speedometer and odometer keeps quitting.  IT might work for 5 minutes or maybe an hour then quit.  I replaced the Vehicle Speed Sensor and so far it seems to have fixed that issue.  The problem now is that the speedometer is showing 7 mph slower that actual speed.  If the speedometer is showing 55 she is actually going 62.  I did not change the gear, just the sensor.  When the speedometer did work with the old sensor, it showed the correct speed.  Is there something that can be calibrated so it will show the correct speed?
