wat would happen if the ambient air flow sensor on 2002 audi a4 disconnected

sensor hanging from drivers side front,car losing power running rough.

Runs from / reads the fuel map in the computer instead of the reading barometric air pressure. Why not change the BARO Turbos, need all the help they can get there guessing everything all the time!
