2005 Audi A4 burns oil
I have an 2005+ Audi A4 Cabriolet with 1.8 engine and it burns oil at 115,000 miles - about 600 miles now and I need a qt of oil.
Will this be an expensive repair or should I be thinking of a new car? Basically, I like the car.
You are right at the limit of oil consumption per miles, so it sounds like it is most likely time for an engine overhaul or replacement, you can go all the way with a new engine or a little cheaper, Remanufactured engine, or you can try a good used engine, the choice is yours of course. Maybe your thinking it's time for a different car.
check for leaks if your going threw oil that fast you may have a bad cam seal or head gasket seal. Also if your car is smokeing more then ussal and smells like a skidoo does that means your burning oil in hte cylinders which means headgasket seals have gone.
