replaced power steering pump on 1997 gmc k-1500 sierra. Now i have issues. HELP.
OK. so I needed to change my power steering pump. you need more than back yard tools. It was an awful job. It took almost a month of searching but I found a supplier that has the pump with the evo/tfe. I drove the truck for three days, on coming home from work the steering got real hard. Almost like the pump was not working. I have seen the res. bubbling and figure I need to bleed at the steering box.Does that sound right and if not what then?
You may need to bleed the system. You did not need to buy a pump with EVO. I talked to a Chevy parts manager at the local dealership and he said that you do not need to attach the EVO electrical on the replacement pumps. He said that EVO did not work and Chevy discontinued selling pumps with it. He said to tie off the electrical line and the pump should work just fine.
