i have a 95 gmc sierra 1500, 350 5.7liter, with oil in my radiator
I have a light brown oily substance in my radiator but there's nothing in my oil or transmission, and the vehicle runs hot
Have it block checked to rule out a blown head gasket or head problems. If that test is good then it could be a leak through the intake manifold. Make sure the oil color is brown and not reddish as that would indiacate a crack in the trans cooler portion of the radiator. HTH
hey, thanks. it's not red it's baby doo-doo brown, kinda golden-like. but there's no sign of water in the oil. I heard about the intake problems before but was told it didn't apply to the aluminum intakes, which is what I have. is that true?
Yes if you have the aluminum intake you won't get oil in the radiator. There is one more thing, if your truck has an oil cooler that uses the engine coolant the cooler tank could be cracked internally.
Before you change head gaskets flush your radiator out
