I have a 2005 pt Cruier, when tested it said cam shaft sensor needed to be replaced, which is what we did. The car totallly shut down at a stop light. Help

We changed sensor, has new battery, attempts to turn over but nothing.  People from AAA said it might be timing belt?

Could be. I would scan the codes and see if you have Crank/Cam correlation codes.
