2003 or cruiser limited

Asked by Pamshair Sep 03, 2017 at 06:27 PM about the 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser Limited Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

First time oil light came on, plenty of oil , checked
twice. WAS driving on freeway, no problems,  pulled
into driveway put in park as car idled the light went
on and was dinging. I turned off engine. Let cool
for 2 hours ,checked oil says plenty . Mind you its
been 100 degrees here for the last 3 days. I was
not using air conditioner at the time.  I do not here
any knocking  or funny noises. Is it oil pressure?
Can i drive it with out ruining engine? Had oil
change 4 months ago.

Check oil pressure with manual gauge to make sure pressure is ok, if pressure reads above 40psi after car has warmed up, replace pressure sending unit
