when is the correct time to change a timing belt on a 2002 pt cruiser.....I got 79,000 miles on it.

Time to do it. Usually between 40- 60,000 depending on the manufacturer.

how my mechanic says 80.000 miles to be changed....what is the correct answer

60-100,000 miles. Depends on motor and transmission. Oh and make sure to change the water pump too while your in there.
