My ford five hundred check engine light came on. Took it to O'Reilly, they said it was coming back w a code for needs new crank or cam sensor. Took it to a mechanic, he,says I've blown the motor.

Might be a sensor, not so sure on the blown motor, maybe you have an exhaust leak too. Take it to another reputable garage that can help you.
