Headlights on a 2005 ford five hundred

Just bought a car for my son's 16th
birthday and after getting it home when
headlights are on one dim light works on
one side and the bright light works on other
side.  When u put bright lights on all 4 work.  
Also having some trouble on interior lights
dimmin.  Bought new bulbs no help anyone
have any ideas hate to keep buying wrong
parts

Sounds like a wiring/connector issue, might be related to a ground wire? Have your local mecanic inspect it for you, simple fix, but needs to be diagnosed.
