Hi my 2003 ford explorer 4.6 I hit the gas it revs up
and sticks for a few seconds any ideas

Did you get the mounting surface clean and use a new gasket when you installed the new IAC? Sounds like you may have a vacuum leak.

You mean an air idle control sensor? And how about the throttle positioning sensor? (TPS)

"It sticks for a few seconds". Are you talking about the linkage? Manually rev the engine from under the hood and see if the throttle immediately returns to its starting position. If so, clean. If you removed the IAC, did you replace the gasket and thoroughly clean the mounting surfaces? Check for proper operation of the IAC, the net will show you how.
