2002 Explorer after driving 5 miles or so and come to a stop it dies. It stars back up and will stay running until it's put in drive then it dies again but will stay running in reverse. After it sits for about 20 minutes it will go in drive again but dies again after stopping. Any thoughts?

Might be transmission related, but maybe not. At this point it's best to have your local mechanic look it over. Too many variables. Could b as simple as a vacuum leak. Is the CEL on?
