2002 Explorer XLT with seized engine will not shift out of PARK. What must I do to move this to neutral?
I have a 2002 Explorer XLT 4WD, with an apparently seized 4.0 v6. I need to move the vehicle to replace the engine. What is required to move the transmission to Neutral as the battery is disconnected and the vehicle will not start? I can reconnect the battery of course. It would not shift when the battery was attached.
on the steering column orr on the floor shifter
This is an on-the-column shifter
drop the drive-shaft it has to be done for the swap anyway
On my 2003 a battery has to be in the vehicle for it to be taken out of park. If you have a battery connect it and it will probably move.
