700R transmission

Asked by Mar 05, 2016 at 04:54 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 STD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just put 700R trans. How much
fluid do I need?

1 Answer

107,445

Anywhere from 11 to 13 quarts depending on pan and cooler size, I would start with 5 quarts then start it and add to the full line on the stick. Then drive it through the gears and recheck, it will be normal for it too drop a bit after all the air is worked out.
