Temp light not working dash reads engine hot ac not working

I have a 2006 Monte Carlo LS temp gauge just
stopped working and dash reads engine hot ac not
working what to do it hasn't ran hit nor seems to be
hot at all

Check the wiring going to the coolant temperature sensor. If it's become disconnected the computer will default to an overheating condition even though it's not overheating. Hope that helps! Jim
