Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Pls help! My 2000 Monte Carlo 3.4
automatic transmission is making this weird
remote control car sound (that's the only
way I can describe it), and in addition to that
noise it jerks. Can someone pls answer this
for me. I am a female and my personal
mechanic doesn't work on transmissions.
I'm worried that if I take it to a shop that
they're going to take advantage and
overcharge me or not even fix it correctly. I
really don't have the funds to be dealing with
a transmission but I need my car as I am a
full time student and work full time. My car
has a lil over 107k miles on bought it with
52k back in 10'. I've had 1 transmission flush
done on it a few years ago. I don't know
what to do because I can't afford a new car
with a car note and I sure as heck don't want
to go to some buy here pay here paying a
car note on another old used car. Someone
pls help. I'm in the Dallas, TX area if
someone knows a good mechanic that
would be great!

Hi Mark! Thanks so much for your response, but to answer your question, no I have not had anything else done to or with the transmission.

I'm sorry firebird338, thought your name was mark as I was the "best answer tab" that begins with Mark lol

Do not worry about it you are good. First you need to change the transmission fluid and filter and use Lucas Automatic Transmission Fluid and and leave out one quart and add some Lucas Transmission Fix this should take care of your problems. The only reason I am recommending this product is because I have used some of their other products with great results. Sorry can not help you with finding a mechanic live in Delaware.

Google lucasoil.com/products and check out their products especially the one for transmission problems and also check out the testimonies.

Firebird338 thank you so much! I really appreciate your help. I will most definitely try what you've suggested.
