i hear a loud rattling noise in the engine area of my car, what could be the problem, any helper?
i use a toyota camry 2006 model , i stopped using the car for three days because of
battery problem where everything was ok. three days after the i moved the car the engine
sound has not been the same.. its now noisy with a rattling cracking sound and the
general performance of the car has reduced abruptly... i want to know what the problem
could be and best way to solve it ...any help very will be very much appreciated..
Check the serpentine belt area and determine where exactly the noise is coming from. I suspect the serpentine belt, tensioner or pulley/bearing of one of the other components.
tom the serpentine belt was removed and when i started the engine the noise was still there..the noise is coming from within the engine itself? i read about it and the information i gathered all seem to link to the timing chain...my worry is that.. is it ok to replace just the timing chain ?
