Anyone have an opinion on optional warranty for my new/used Lexus RX330? It has 69,000 mi. Warranty lasts for 5 years or 125,000 mi. With a $300 deductible. Cost: $2,169. Or a $200 deduct. for $2,399.

Is it a Lexus backed warranty or 3rd Party? Is it bumper to bumper? Are you buying a used 2005 RX330 with 70k miles or did you buy this car new and are now considering extending it? What options does the 330 have? My first impression would be to say it is not worth it at that cost especially with such a high deductible. At $300 that's almost 3 hours of labor. Once I have more info, I can give you a better answer.
Look at the economics of it: If replacing transmission cost $6000, you are insuring $6000 for $2399.only for a limited amount of time.You will be better off by setting that money aside in your savings account.
