I have a 1963 Stingray split window but the first 4 digits on the VIN are "40837," which indicates a 1964 split window. Is this possible?

Are you getting the VIN off the car itself or the title, or the registration? The VIN tag should be at the top of the cowl under the hood. If the tag on the cowl reads "40837......." you most likely have a "Frankincar". Meaning that it could be constructed with body parts of a '63 on a '64 chassis. I believe '63 was the only year for the split rear window. HTH. -Jim
