I have 91 ford ranger xlt. I cant tell if im in 4hi or 2hi. I want to make sure im in 2hi so im not burning gas like crazy. It doesnt feel like there is a differn or any kind of shift from 4hi to 2hi

If you are in 4 HI Try making a sharp turn right or left, if you feel the rig buck a little then your on 4 HI, no buck your in 2 HI.
