'96 e150 temperature gauge not working, what is a quick troubleshooting procedure ?

Unplug the sending unit and ground the plug. Turn the key on and the gauge should swing to hot. If it does your sending unit is bad. If it doesn't the wire is broken somewhere, the printed circuit on the back of the instrument cluster is bad, or the gauge itself is bad. HTH. -Jim
