transfer case on my 92 s10 will not engage when it gets below freezing outside. in warm weather it works fine.

I am getting vibration from 25 mph to 55 mph in the drive train. When shifting to a lower gear going down a steep road I get a clunk. Sounds like U joints but they don't look loose. When I turn the drive shaft that is in front of the transfer case I hear a noise in the transfer case. Can U joints be bad but still appear tight? Can a transfer case be rebuilt like other components? 1 Answer

I found out my 96 s-10 blazer wouldn't shift into 4 wheel drive by getting stuck in a river bed, I replaced the actuator because the diaphragm was ruptured. the next time it didn't work I assumed the same thing happened, but when I checked, it was full of transmission fluid. If I understand correctly, the transfer case has an electric shift motor, so where is the fluid coming from? is the vacuum line tied into the down shift actuator on the transmission and that component have a ruptured diaphragm? 1 Answer
