When I accelerate, why does my engine have an air/whisting sound?

I noticed a blowing whistle sound in my engine when I accelerated out of the parking lot from work. I pushed the RPM a little high and it was then I noticed the whistling noise so I backed off but now when I normally accelerate I can hear the whistle.

Might be a vaccum leak, the cooling fan or a bearing starting to fail.
