Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1991 Ford XLT Larriot 2 wheel drive. I have dual tanks but have
not used the front tank in several years, so I only use the rear tank. When I
am driving the truck I have fuel spewing out of the filler nozzle on my front
tank. I have drained the gas from the front tank and withing 2 hours it was
over filling from the filler nozzle again. Can anyone please tell me why this is
happening and how to fix it?

The switching valve is the usual suspect on these, they get stuck between tanks so the fuel return is put back into the wrong tank, they might still be avaliable aftermarket, otherwise your going to have to get creative with vinyl fuel line and make a bypass around the valve, you still need the valve to make the fuel gauge and lift pump work, just don't switch it or you might loose what you have.
