Chrysler Pacifica little extra hot

Asked by GuruC2VFM Mar 05, 2019 at 09:57 AM about the Chrysler Pacifica

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just noticed today my heat temp will
go up to the half way mark. It has
always stayed under neath that mark.
I noticed cause I started getting extra
heat smoke coming from engine. This
happens when I have stopped driving
like at a red light. Then once I
proceed, the heat gauge goes back
down to normal. It doesn’t smoke
every time or go up to half mark every
time. But enough to cause concern.

First thing to check is the coolant level, it may be low. The other problem is the smoke. If it is white, it is probably coolant being burned. This indicates an internal coolant leak such as a blown head gasket. Be careful not to overheat the engine as this could cause additional damage.
