how do you reset the airbag light on a 1998 chevy blazer

It has to be diagnosed and fixed. A fault has been detected, worry less about just re-setting the light that what is wrong with your air bag system. The vast majority of the time it means they will not deploy in an accident, but there is always that small chance they will inadvertently deploy. A mechanic or dealer can disable them but the light will remain on

take off the positive side off the battery walk away for a few minutes and return put back cable see if it don't go out

I have a 97 gmc jimy suv and the problem with that the air bag light is on all the time ..and i went ahead took it of 'but now wont pas the inpecion to get licens for it..dose any body can give a tip how i can reset the air bag light .?it nees to go off when you star the car .that is what the statepatrol sed

Hey! I know this is an old post, but I found it searching online for the same issue and I figured many others are too. I came across safety restore when I was searching for a solution to turn my airbag light off and their service saved me a lot of money and time. They basically reset my airbag module so I didn’t have to replace it. I just mailed them the module and once they received it, from what I understand they erased and cleared all crash codes and all I had to do was put it back in and the light went off.
