How to remove a fuel tank on a 74 Buick Electra 225

Drain the tank. Then just in front of the back bumper you'll see what look like two threaded rods. They're actually "J" hooks with nuts on them. These secure the straps that hold the gas tank in place. Remove the nuts and lower the tank enough to remove the fuel lines and electric connector from the gas gauge sending unit. Then remove the tank. HTH. -Jim
