Hi!  Everything else works on 1979 Oldsmobile
cutlass , the only  problem is that only one side of
my brakes light work !

The first thing to check is the bulbs. Most common cause is a bad bulb (there are 2 filaments in the 1157 bulbs and one can be burned out).
