I have a 2001 monte Carlo which by the way does not have the factor stero anymore. The person I bought it from replaced. Afew days ago my brother changed the radiator for me and disconnected the
Battery and left it disconnected for 3
days. After putting everything back
together the car won't start and
lights are flashing and a bunch of
lights on the dashboard are on. I
think it has something to do with the
security system. Please Help!
...okay, do you still have the transponder key?
What's a transponder key? I have a key for the ignition and a different one for the door and trunk
On some GMs of that time period several things are linked to the BCM (Body Control Module) through the factory radio. Such as the oil life system, personal settings for the interior lights, and yes the security system. Since everything was fine until the battery was disconnected I'd try to contact either the previous owner who installed the aftermarket radio or the radio manufacturer. The manufacturer may have online instructions for how to bypass this. HTH. -Jim
