Pontiac Grand Prix jerking
My 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix started jerking this morning when I pushed the gas pedal. It would jerk 3-4 times, then take off like normal. It jerked as if I was pushing on the pedal quickly then letting off it. However, I was pushing the pedal the whole time. Occasionally, it would jerk a couple more times as I was driving if I push on the pedal hard to accelerate quickly to pass someone. My RPMs were at 3600, no matter if I was pushing on the gas or not. At times, my RPMs would bounce back and forth between 0 and 3600 regardless of whether I was speeding up or slowing down. It almost felt like it was losing power intermittently. No check engine light.
Initially, I turned off the car and restarted. However, it still jerked. Drove it a few miles then turned it off again. When I started it the third time, the jerking was gone. I could push the accelerate and it drove normal. The RPM's registered normal--if I pushed on the pedal, RPMs slowly went up. If I didn't push on pedal, RPMs went down. Ultimately, everything was find after I started it the 3rd time.
