I have 2007 Audi A4 petrol. All of sudden would not start.Mechanic says loss of compression reason and engine needs to be overhauled. Can this be as no loss of power experieced, no oil useage .

i think the mechanic you took it to is trying to take you for a ride. Where did you take it ? if its not a vw/audi specialist shop most people will not even have a clue how to work on these cars.
