Need help changing battery cables

Remove the negative wire from the battery, and make sure it's tucked away so that it doesn't accidentally slip and reconnect to the battery. Then you can remove the positive wire from the battery. Follow it down to the starter and detach that end. It should just be a small nut. Make sure the new wire is the same gauge or bigger, and all connections are tight. Loose connections can cause a no start.
