Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just replaced my generator and I don't
think I did it right. I tryed starting it and
it made a sound like the fan was
rubbing so I turned it off fast. I went
back over the shims and everything
and when all looked good try ed to
start it again. It acted like it was going
to start and no bad noise then as if hit
with lightning it turned off and now
nothing. When I turn the key it does
nothinh. I try ed a jump start and still
nothing..... please help

Tryed bump starting and it sounded like it did when my battery was dead

Sounds like a dead battery now in addition to generator. Can't bump or push start it if your battery is dead. I recommend converting to an alternator. It sounds like the generator was hooked up wrong.......Electrical. Sometimes it is easier if you are un-shure to take your Car to a shop.
