1958 beetle will run on ether but not on its own fuel

my bug ran good but just died while driving ? will run on aerosol starter fluid but
not on its own fuel ?

Could be the carburetor, fuel pump or fuel filter or an empty gas tank. Check to see if the carb is getting fuel.

take the line of the card,put a rag around it or into a gar turn it over a few times...any gas...
