Replaced starter to 2007 Dodge Charger. Now it won't start.

Just replaced the starter in my 2007 Dodge Charger 3.5L yesterday. Changed it because when it started up it made a grinding sound. Changed it by taking the steering linkage out (not the steering rack or exhaust), the power wire was really screwed up but made it work by bending it back into shape. Car work for a 30 mile trip with being shut off and turned back on twice on the second time it made another grinding sound and was rough starting it back up. Today it would not start. Sounds like the starter it working but not grabbing the flywheel. Any ideas?

Sounds like the old starter might have damaged the flexplate teeth i would pull the starter and bench test it to make sure its work and also inspect the flexplate all the way round for damage

if it wasn't a pain in the ass it wouldn't be a car and also if it went together easy it usually means something is wrong. lmao
