Is anyone else having a whole lot of problems with their Volvo S60?

Asked by Jul 25, 2015 at 08:42 AM about the 2002 Volvo S60

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It seems like every year from 2009 when I got the car to now I have had to have a major
fix done costing up to or near $1,000 each year. I have spent more money fixing it that I
have paid for it and I'm tired. I love my volvo but is it really worth the trouble anymore?

It all comes down to how much you want to spend and put up with issues and taking it to the garage. All cars are getting expensive to maintain. I have cars that cost me $500 a year to $2K a year depending on what parts need replacing. So in your case, $1000 a year comes out to $84 a month. Can you get a car payment cheaper than that?

Trade it off it's 13 years old.

Volvos are high maintenance- the old ones established a reputation for reliability, but Volvo lost it some where along the way- you know the pain, now it's time to get rid of the Swedish Meatball-

I had an 04 S60. Yeah, around 700 bucks each year. Engine ignition problem. Buy an s80?
