Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had problems last year with my air conditioning, had it repaired, compressor problem. Now almost a year later, the air conditioning is going bad again. Sometimes it works, looks like the same problem as last year.  Does anyone have the same problem.  I have a 2004 9-3 linear, 5 speed.

Most likely , the gas container is empty. The A/C is allways on if you dont turn it off, if you arent shure if its on or not. "A/C off" should appear in the A/C screen where the set. temp is standing. When you car is in to service ( once a year) , it should be refilled.

So is your AC going bad like it's not cooling enought or is you compressor is not engaging all the time when it's supposed to? If your system is not cooling enought then you have a refrigerant leak.. recharging it will only help for about 6 - 12 months depending on how big your leak is. AC is a closed system and you are not supposed to run out of the refrigerant.. You'll have to bring it to a shop to find where it's leaking and get it fixed. If your system is cooling enough, but the compressor is not engaging it might be a problem in the compressor control circuit (a bad sensor or something like that) or a problem with your compressor.. If they replaced a compressor last time you have your AC system repaired there's a chance that they have not added compressor oil in it and now your compressor is seizing up..

Thanks, think you nailed the problem. It is compressor oil. Thank you very much!
