Oil pressure

My oil pressure gauge was not staying up i
did a oil change an it was overdue the
pickup screen is not clogged. One machnic
told me i need a new motor have 100,612
miles on it.was not clacking just a lil like no
oil getting into it.i thought it was oil pump.i
think he thinks eiser job to replace motor
then change the oil pump first i had no oil
pressure then the pressure came up but
went back down after oil change does it
soublnd like a motor to u

Damage can happen very quickly when you loose oil pressure, I know what he's thinking, if he just replaces the oil pump gets all back together and the oil pressure is still gone then he has to tear it all back down again. With that kind of mileage and an oil pressure drop out you most likely need another engine, new, rebuilt, crate or even used, if your going to keep it till it rusts into the ground then I would put in a new one, of course you could always sell it as is where is.
