Perhaps the fob just wore out. Since key fobs work by radio type signals some auto parts stores can test them for free. If yours is worn out you can buy a brand new replacement from ebay. Complete with easy programming instructions. I got a pair last month for my 2000 Grand Prix from eBay. Brand new and programmed them to the car in about 10 minutes. One other possibility is the fob lost it's sync with the car. GMs used a "rolling code" system so that each time the fob is used the code changes. There were 250 possible codes. If the fob needs to be resynchronized check with your local GM dealer for the procedure for your Buick. HTH. -Jim
