95 ford f150

I have a old ford with two tanks it cranks
and then dies i press the gas it dies ,i pymp
it a few times wen it is crunk up and it act as
if it is barley getting gas and i smell fuel
also, .....i have change the distributor cap to
a friend of mine says it a bad spark plug i
just dont want to be buying what i don't
need?

It's injected so you shouldn't be smelling gas, first thing to check is the fuel pressure regulator, they tend to go bad an leak fuel into the vacuum hose that is attached to it, if that is the case then you most likely will have to replace the plugs due to gas fouling, next check the fuel pressure and flow, if pressure is good but low flow replace the fuel filter, if pressure is low replace the main pressure pump. Now you mentioned dual tanks, Ford has a problem with the switching valve on these trucks so just be aware if it starts pumping fuel in to tank that you are not running on then you know the switching valve went bad.
