67 Thunderbird wont crank, turn over, or start after attempting to change headlights

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Until this issue, the car has been running absolutely fine.  I was going to
take my tbird to work yesterday.  I turned the car on and it was running
fine.  I decided I would test the headlights to make sure they were working
fine as not to run into an issue commuting home after work.  The
passenger headlights were out and I had a spare headlight in the car so
decided I would change the bulb out.  I turned the car off, unplugged the
passenger headlights and attempted to plug the new headlight up.  It is
important to note that I did initially try to plug regular headlamp into the
bright headlamp position intitially. I unplugged everything and decided I
would just mess with it later, and plugged to two dead lamps back in.  After
doing this my car will no longer start, or even turn over.  Any help is greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Also, I attempted to jump start it. When I had the cables on it and attempted to crank it up I got that grinding nose coming accross the solenoid going to the alternator. But no evidence of it trying to turn over.
