1967 Ford thunderbird. Can you tell me how to repair or locate instrument cluster voltage regulator
Need help figuring out where it is and how to repair it. Does anyone have a picture on how
for installing it
Try Faxon Auto Literature in Riverside California for a shop manual. I've bought from there. Excellent quality. In the mean time, the voltage regulator on my Father's '73 LTD was located on the passengers side fender, behind the battery. HTH. -Jim
The IVR or Instrument Voltage Regulator id mounted directly to the back of the instrument panel. Usually, it looks like a small, square metal can. Unrepeatable. I don't have any resources for replacing it but I'm sure some exsist. Why replace it? Fuel gauge not working?
I should have said that it's on the back of the Instrument Cluster - not panel. Attached to the printed circuit board.
Here comes a dumb question. Are you sure you have one? I'm looking at a 1968 parts book which lists an instrument cluster voltage regulator for 1961 thru '65 models (part # B9MZ-10804B). But no listing for '66 thru '68 models. -Jim
Found it!! Rockauto.com has it for $39.95 + shipping. After you enter the vehicle year, make, and model, select "electrical". It will pop right up. There's even a picture. - Jim
