Chevy S10 1987 Turn signal issues

Asked by Dec 01, 2015 at 12:03 PM about the 1987 Chevrolet S-10

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The passenger side turn signal only works intermittently when the headlights
are on.  It works fine without the headlights on.  It just freezes on the dash.  A
few minutes later it works fine again with the headlights on.  I have replaced
the bulb.  Should I replace the flasher?  Where is the flasher located?

Sounds like grounding issues, I would start looking on the front side that is giving you the problem. You may have to replace some ground wiring.

Thanks! I will try that. You don't recommend replacing the flasher?

As long as the other side works then no, the flasher runs both sides, when it senses a load difference that is when it acts weird.
