is the 4 cyl grossly under powered compared to the v 6 ?

The 4 cylinder has 117 horsepower and 140 torque(lbs-ft). The V6 has 150 horsepower and 185 torque(lbs-ft) . I would say they are both grossly under powered.

neither of them are very powerfull engines but i would def say yes it is grossely underpowered the v6 overpowers it by almost 40 horses

Absolutely. And the V6 is grossly underpowered compared to most other vehicles of similar size. My girlfriend's Pontiac Vibe has about the same exact HP & torque. It only weighs 2700 pounds and has trouble getting around.


on the 3rd generation 4runners v4 hp is 150, v6 hp is 183


From what ive heard the 4 banger barely moves never been in one tho i couldnt imagine my car with less power
