Door lock problem after recharging a dead battery

Asked by Sep 23, 2015 at 06:45 PM about the 2006 Ford Escape

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recharged a dead battery and I am now having problems with the drivers
door lock. It will not unlock with the remote but all the other doors do. The
switch on the driver's door will unlock all the door but not the drivers. Is this
connected to the dead battery being recharged or a totally different
problem? Also I am getting a display on the dash saying that there is a tire
monitor fault. It happened after the dead battery issue also. Is all these
problem connected to the battery problem or are they separate
problems. The battery is only 1 year old and the headlights was left on by
mistake and drained the battery. No problems with it since being
recharged.

Try disconnecting a battery cable, turn on the headlight switch for at least 30 seconds, turn off the headlight switch and reconnect the cable, this procedure could activate the anti-theft system so make sure you know how to turn it off just in case, this resets the ECM back to factory settings, so it might run a little different until it relearns the vehicle and the way you drive, then check to see if this cured your problem.

Thank You, I will try that.
