Will a 2005 Nissan Altima Motor interchange with a 1998 Nissan Altima?

the mechanical lock system remains unaffected by electrical power loss. 1)Insert the door lock key into the driver's door lock. 2)Turn the key counterclockwise one quarter turn. 3)Pull the door handle up until the Escape's door opens. Once the driver door is open, simply open the remaining doors by pulling the interior door handles until the doors open. 4) If you do not have the actual key you will need to get a locksmith.

The key cylinders don't get used much and they tend to freeze. I would try spraying the lock cylinder with lube and working the key a little.

When the battery completely died on my 2014 Ford Explorer, yes, we could get into it with the mechanical key, but the power locks froze!! Could not even pull them up with fingers. This means anyone inside would be trapped if total power is lost in an accident. And the power breaks hardly work (strong 10 year old could not depress it) if you need to roll the car closer to another vehicle to jump start. Very scary!! Not sure I want this vehicle anymore!
