MY SON HAS A 66 MUSTANG THAT HAS BEEN RESTORED, WAS WONDERING WHAT IS IS WORTH
MOTOR- 200 SPRINT
INTERIOR- PONY (CREAM AND BRONZE WITH NEW CARPET)
EXTERIOR- AMBER (NEW PAINT)
LESS THAN 10,000 MILES- CAR WAS PARKED FOR 17 YEARS
THE CAR IS NICE- NEEDS MINOR THINGS DONE TO IT HERE AND THERE, BUT IS IS DRIVEN DAILY.
Hello, Since you didn't mention it being a convertible, I'm guessing it's either a fastback or hardtop. A fastback in good condition can fetch $12,000, in excellent $23,500. A hardtop in good condition can get $16,000, in excellent $32,000. That car has incredibly low miles. It would definitely fetch a premium due to the low miles, maybe several thousand more. It's a great car! I hope he enjoys it! I'm jealous! =) CarGrrl
I 1st generation mustang ie.(1964,65,66) Is a great Car. However, One must first look at the Body for rust , or rust covered up with bondo or fiberglass. The look at its originality ie, ford parts or foreign aftermarketparts that do not fit good. the mechanic's of corse and then the quality of paint. There are Cars out there worth 500 dollars and then there the K-code convertible and Beautiful restoration and or original in show room codtion. Thats worth over 100,000 dollars and some I would be affraid to price because you never know Who. Or howmuch its worth to them..... It was and still is the Best Selling vehicle name plate Ford ever produced. And only in recent years the only other Vehicle to out sell it is the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Siverado.. Good Day
you don't really mention specifics but a hard top coupe is worth around 7,500 at low value but holds an average value of around 16,000 but could be worth as much as 25,000 i need more specifics to give a better answer
I would try out the local Mustang club , to see if anyone there is a licenced appraisor . Or they might know of someone to contact to find out how much the car is worth . Even the local insurance people should know of someone for you to contact , in order to get a fair appraisal .
As a classic Mustang restoration shop and a dealer I can tell you, the value is hard to say without viewing the car. As others have said, it depends on many factors such as rust, bondo, previous damage and repair quality/ restoration. Being a Sprint Edition 200 6cyl it could aid in it's value to those who recognize the Sprint Edition Mustangs as being rare. But to the masses who are generally into V8 Mustangs, it could detract from the value, especially with a 3spd manual trans. A 4 speed would be more attractive. If a shop did the restoration and it was done to a better than or equal to new quality, I would say that the car is worth between $8,000 and $12,000 realistically. If it was a father son project with a MAACO paint job and aftermarket stereo and cheesy chrome wheels...etc, expect that it won't bring more than $5,000 to $8,000. The market just isn't that strong for 6cyl cars, unless you fid the right buyer who is looking for a Sprint Edition Mustang.
base mustang $7,550-20,000
