Could be a simple fix or an expensive one when dealing with a 15 year old Traction Control system. It uses your ABS system to control wheel spin so, if you are lucky, it may be just a wheel sensor (likely cause). On the other side, it may be a more expensive component like the ABS module. In either case, it is not a good idea to continue to drive the car without fixing it. Is the ABS light also coming on or is it just the Trac Off lamp? Have you had the trouble codes checked yet? When fixed, the Trac Off lamp will stay off as "tennisshoes" said.
